Making money in the stock market is through market timing. You will see how the market experts are usually wrong. Not only should you not heed their advice, but we consistently go against their advice.
Our investment philosophy of buying panic is only half true. Our complete strategy is actually buying panic and selling euphoria. Simply put--we buy when most investors are selling, and we sell short when most investors are buying. We are contrarians who are always long or short depending on market conditions.
You can apply the basic strategy in two ways: 1) in stocks and 2) in mutual funds. Both have pros and cons depending on the amount invested. Although the basic strategy is contrarian in nature, it is roughly eighty percent technical and twenty percent anti-sentiment. This means that we are mostly mechanical but partially discretionary in our trading signals.
